Postcards from My Everyday

July 30, 2017

A photo series of my friends in front of their "kost" in Malang.

I'm bad at remembering things in detail, that's one of the reason I enjoy photography. To make memories stay still, and we can see it in front of our eyes everytime we want to. I found my memories of college years are my most hidden treasures. I want to keep it last, forever. (Well, but if the world of internet break down, there's nothing that I can do). Basically, we usually had photo album in our home, and now I make that photo album into a photo series. The idea is not only capturing my friends, but also places that I've visited. There are places I've only visited once, places to do homework, places I've waited outside too often, places I've came into and messed it up or even places I've shared my stories and secrets.

People that not include in this photo series are either busy when I was doing this project, don't want their kost to be taken as photographs, or I've never visited their kost. It doesn't mean that they're mean nothing to me. Maybe I can take your photo later in front of your very own house! Adulting hard.

Ps: I know the color is still harsh and I still need a huge time of practice. And I will do it until my work are as smooth as Nicoline Patricia's photographs (dream as high as we can, shall we?).

Have a nice day!
